A great shrubby perennial. Purpurea has has ovate yellow-green leaves, with serrated edges. Rarely seen for sale. Native to Mexico.
Inflorescences begin appearing in mid-autumn, with plant blooming in to winter. The flowers are a pinkish purple-violet in tight verticils. Flowers are 19mm long.
Thrives in a full sun location. Prune back to 1/3 size to keep bushy.
Height 2.1mtr high. Grown in a 1ltr pot.
